Guidance for Planning Behavior Intervention
Join us for an overview of TSBVI's behavior guidance document. Inappropriate behaviors are a human response to many complex stressors and can lead to an ongoing cycle of behavior/reaction. We will explore ways to break this cycle by offering strategies that foster safety, success, independence, and connectedness with your students by using proactive and responsive strategies. 2/25/2021 Part 1: This presentation will focus on early communication strategies and how to incorporate these strategies into tele-intervention, as well as in-person home visits. All three presenters are Deaf themselves and have years of experience in early intervention. Topics presented will be varied but will include: supporting early communication foundations, coaching strategies, American Sign Language, and technology to support spoken language. 2021 DB Symposium - Early Intervention Services - Then and Now
Sue Gawne and Allison Mail. Before the pandemic, our Early Intervention Program provided an introduction to deafblind communication and Intervenors/Intervention support. We provide deafblind Intervention education and hands-on consultation to children with deafblindness (birth to five years), their families and their professional team (such as Vision Specialists, Hearing Specialists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Music Therapists, Orientation and Mobility Specialists, Nursing Supports, Intervenors, Infant/Toddler Consultants, Daycare/Preschool staff, School Districts). Together we will share how this successful model works and the shift to virtual service delivery.
