TSBVI Coffee Hour: CVI Scotland, Optimizing Support for Children with CVI, Part 2 CVI Clusters
In Part 1, the visual processes and some of the CVIs children are commonly affected by were introduced. In this talk we will look at some combinations of CVIs commonly found in children, and what they look like in terms of the child's behaviours and difficulties. We call these combinations CVI Clusters. CVI Clusters can affect a child's social skills, behaviour, learning and all aspects of development. A difficulty a child may have, like recognising someone, can have many different causes, and we will show this, and suggest some strategies for targeted support. We will also provide an update from recently published research looking at how many children have CVI, particularly where it is not diagnosed. Pre-study is not required, but reading the few short pages in the section called The CVI Puzzle will enhance the understanding of the session. https://cviscotland.org/mem_portal.php?cat_id=74

Prom
Prom weekend is that wonderful time of year when TSBVI high school students, along with friends from around the state, put on their finest to dance the night away. We’ll have team-building activities on Friday and Saturday, and students will be encouraged to make their own corsages for the big night. Group of students mugging for the camera before promExpanded Core Curriculum areas covered will include social skills, communication, self-advocacy, recreation-leisure, and independent living, all while participating in exciting activities.
