From Heather Withrow To Everyone: ItÕs taking me a while to remember that. *grin* From Kate Borg (she/her) To Christy Harrison and All Panelists: I love Bristol!! So pretty From Karyn Hacker To Everyone: Can a birth - three year old VI or AI baby be served by LEA if not in ECI? From Heather Withrow To Everyone: Resources and case management needs being met is so helpful! Especially when itÕs the family staring out learning about resources. From Janiel Brannen To Everyone: IFSPs in my area are taking several hours (2-3+) is it required that the TSVI stay for the entirety of the meeting (like for the cost share portion etc that is really none of our business) also for the PR meetings (these have been taking hours as well. The participants are literally sitting and watching ECI caseworker type. From Kate Borg (she/her) To Everyone: Janiel, when we have a second, IÕll ask Mari. From Janiel Brannen To Everyone: very painful From Karyn Hacker To Everyone: Can a birth-three year old VI or AI baby be served by LEA if not receiving services from ECI From Kate Borg (she/her) To Everyone: ECI is Early Childhood Intervention in Texas, for our non texan friends From Janiel Brannen To Everyone: Thank you Mari. My region has been told the opposite. The TSVIs were told they need to stay for the duration regardless. I will go back and revisit this with our local eci. From Elsa Hernandez To Everyone: Seems too short of a time for babies to master a goal From Kate Borg (she/her) To Everyone: Remember, we write these outcomes in much smaller increments than we do for IEPs. From Christy Harrison To All Panelists: And in EI we write goals that include skills within different daily routines From Alex Driver To Everyone: So regarding goals - I typically write multiple goals because of how the timelines they work. Unfourtantly once we have an initial IFSP, our ECI agency seems to forget about me, and does not invite me to their IFSPs both annually, bi annual, or the ones that pop up. I usually get a parent to tell me they are happening. From Karyn Hacker To Everyone: Same with our ECI From Lindsey Clinton To Everyone: Alex, my TCVI colleagues and I have the same issue. Does anyone have ways to support providers and FRCs remembering to include us in IFSP invites? From Christy Harrison To All Panelists: I think that is a system wide training issue, the whole team should be invited and informed of all meetings. How do you update your case manager about your clients changing needs? What the communication between family sessions? From Kate Borg (she/her) To Everyone: This is where having really strong collaboration with the rest of the providers is important. Make sure to communicate with that ECI coordinator as you do your visits, etc. From Elsa Hernandez To Everyone: The parents are not told this at IFSP meetings. Parents usually leave while we are there; at times nurses are the ones there, while we service babies. Who monitors that this information is given to the parents? From Alex Driver To Everyone: Kate - We try! However, in our area it is VERY difficult with our ECI coordinators. Even our Region specialist cant get a hold of them to help us. Our hands are extremely tied in this situation. It also doesn't help that there is such high turn over. From Kate Borg (she/her) To Everyone: Alexa, thatÕs rough for sure! IÕd try communicating with ECI through HHS if you arenÕtgetting the information you need from your local agency. From Christy Harrison To All Panelists: I wonder if a quick provider meeting on the topic of VI and EI will help the new coordinators learn the value of VIs. Maybe they need to be educated some From Brenda Lee To Everyone: Great job Mari!!! Thanks for sharing From Heather Withrow To Everyone: *waving hands* Mari! From roslyn simon To Everyone: thank you From Christie Cumbest To Everyone: Thank you! From Mary Shore To Everyone: Thank you, Mari! From Kerry Auld To Everyone: Very informative presentation! Thank you! From Lisa Garza To All Panelists: Thank you! From Karyn Hacker To Everyone: We are having trouble getting referrals and children are showing up at 3 & 4 years old with significant visual impairments From Alex Driver To Everyone: We just found out our HHSC is being run out of El Paso currently...….. We are in East Texas…….. From Rebecca Eagle To All Panelists: Thanks so much!! 🤗 From Linda Jordan To Everyone: Thanks for sharing today! From Jill Smith To Everyone: My question- how bad is it if I'm having trouble getting the parent to enroll their baby in school so I can get a PEIMs number... ?
