From Kristin Brown to Everyone: Volume is fine on my end From Kate Borg (she/her) to Everyone: Repeat that! EI is NOT a therapy model!! From TSBVI Outreach Media to Everyone: Today’s handout can be found at: http://tsbvi.live/coffeehour From Valery Kircher to Everyone: CVI diagnosed in infants and toddlers is very important because the brain based visual impairment can be helped because of neuroplasticity. It is so important to screen (Dutton, TEACH CVI) a young child complete a FVA for a child with CVI. There is so much out there now on CVI- Perkins, CVI Scotland are both really good websites From Julie Bratton to Everyone: Related to not using many pictures in EI and CVI, I find that I often have to argue against the use of LAMP or Snapcore for nonverbal littles with CVI. Even if they are adjusted for only 4-8 choices/squares per page. SLP From Julie Bratton to Everyone: SLP's automatically go to the devices. What have others found? From Dorothy Vetrano to Everyone: There is a book by AFB I find helpful. Check out Everyday Activities to Promote Visual Efficiency: A Handbook for working with Young Children with Visual Impairments. Visual activities are broken up into chapters according to age starting at Birth - 3 years of age. Many activities may not work with some of our involved babies but you can always adapt to fit their needs. From Kaycee Bennett to Everyone: Wearing the baby is motiving for parents too, they get their hands back! I loved wearing my son. From Kaycee Bennett to Everyone: motivating* From TSBVI Outreach Media to Everyone: Today’s handout can be found at: http://tsbvi.live/coffeehour From Debbie Branecky to Everyone: where can we get a copy of the visual response continuum From Kristi Portugue to Everyone: Do you have suggestions to help engage care givers who use visits as a chance to relax or catch up on other tasks? Parent is the main, only, care giver. From Kate Borg (she/her) to Everyone: Keep in mind to the coaching model. You model these first, do it with the family member, and then have them do it on their own. From Kate Borg (she/her) to Everyone: @Kristi, we can ask Karen for some input. But I would first chat with parent about what an IFSP is and for (for families) and talk about the coaching model. From Elaine Sveen to Everyone: Will we have access to the power point?
