We aren't using that feature, but if you have a question or comment, please feel free to put that into the chat. Sarah Riddile to Everyone: Sarah Riddile Midlothian ISD Sharon Brown to Everyone: Question...What do we do if the parent does not give consent--no census information at all?? Kaycee Bennett to Everyone: Great question, Sharon. Brian will address that in just a bit! Chelsea M Caldwell to Everyone: Chelsea Caldwell Austin ISD Stephanie McIver to Everyone: Stephanie McIver Raymondville ISD Erika Flanagan to Everyone: Erika Flanagan Austin ISD Kaycee Bennett to Everyone: In reference to the previous question- Brian's screen shared "if the parent does not give consent, do not omit the child. Still put in all of the information and check no consent where appropriate." Jenice Dames to Everyone: How do we get last 4 of SSN? Parents donÕt have to provide that Erica Cairns to Everyone: That's correct! All student information is entered regardless of consent, but TSBVI will only share student information with APH if we do have consent. Sharon Brown to Everyone: I forget what we do if a baby/ECI student doesn't have a social security number Jenice Dames to Host and panelists: Or family wonÕt provide Erica Cairns to Everyone: Great question! If that comes up, please reach out to Brian so that a unique number can be created. sobeckb@tsbvi.edu Julia Remington to Everyone: If we have students at TSBVI do we get consent and have those students included in our district count or does TSBVI do that? Erica Cairns to Everyone: We only ask for the last 4 digits of the social if we do not have a Unique Texas ID. But again, if that's not readily available, let Brian know. Stacy Moore to Everyone: What do we put for acuity if the student has no light perception? Erica Cairns to Everyone: NLP will be Meets Definition of Blindness Leslie Wilson to Host and panelists: Where do we get the consent form? Lisa Mejia to Everyone: Lisa Mejia Austin ISD Erica Cairns to Everyone: https://www.tsbvi.edu/wp-content/uploads/consentform_vireg_dbchildcount.pdf Maria Bejarano to Everyone: Pre braille is considered braille in this case? Jenice Dames to Host and panelists: Are you counting direct instruction on braille technology on that question? Or just learning braille code Erica Cairns to Everyone: Just the code for now. We know that this is already a really lengthy process and we try to keep it as trim as possible. But that's a great point and something for us to consider in the future! Jenice Dames to Host and panelists: Thank you. Suzanne Martin to Everyone: What do you put if they donÕt have a current teacher? Emma Reese to Everyone: If a contractor is serving students do we put their name? Julia Remington to Everyone: Don't see a response to this so asking again: If we have students at TSBVI do we get consent and have those students included in our count or does TSBVI do that? Araceli Lovett to Everyone: If the student is 504 and does not receive VI services, do we enter the Gen Ed teacher's name? Julia Remington to Everyone: Thank you! Lani Simonton to Everyone: Our district has a 504 coordinator who enters their data. Are the 504 questions the same as VI? Nicole Resendez to Everyone: Do we register homeschooled VI students that are in our district? Paula Simmons to Everyone: Which Gen. Ed. teacher would we use to put down for serving the student? Stan Fleming to Everyone: What do we do with prop share students whom we do not serve? Vicki Brady to Everyone: Vicki Brady Abilene TX Julia Remington to Everyone: To clarify, if a school district provides proportionate share funds for a VI student at a private school, should we include them in our VI count or use the google form you referenced? Stephanie McIver to Everyone: What is the procedure for registering a student we are serving through ECI? Erica Cairns to Everyone: If your district provides prop share services to a student in private school, you will work with that school to complete the Google form that Brian will share. They will not be counted in your district's VI registration. Elizabeth Ross to Everyone: We have a student who is dually enrolled in our district/ private school and our school district provides the TVI and OM services and conducts the ARDS, will the student be reported like the other students or do we need to use the Google sheet you mentioned? Jill Smith to Everyone: What if our student has a visual impairment and a hearing impairment, BUT has not been identified as DB for whatever reason... to list or not list them? Erica Cairns to Everyone: Brian is about to explain that very question! Maria Bejarano to Everyone: I believe that once you hit what seems like the final "Drop" button, it asks if I know where the student went. I don't have that answer usually. Erica Cairns to Everyone: That's okay, Maria. It's helpful if you have it, but we know it's impossible to maintain all information. Julia Remington to Everyone: Do we count all the ECI VI babies we serve using this same process? Erica Cairns to Everyone: Yes, we include birth to three in both counts. Julia Remington to Everyone: Great, thanks Deann Orsak to Host and panelists: Deann Orsak, Big 4 SSA Stan Fleming to Everyone: if a school district provides proportionate share funds for a VI student at a private school, should we include them in our VI count or use the google form you referenced? Julia Remington to Everyone: Out of curiosity, how do you count homeschooled students? I am wondering how you find them. (LEA has no responsibility in that, correct?) Shawna Phillips to Everyone: What if the student is dual enrolled? We still include them correct? Emma Reese to Everyone: If a contractor is serving students do we put their name as the VI at the bottom of the page Carmen Leyva to Everyone: If our district has a contracted TVI, can an O&M complete the VI Registration? Shawna Phillips to Everyone: Yes Emma Reese to Everyone: Thanks Emma Reese to Everyone: When should we expect to get our log in information? Erica Cairns to Everyone: Brian: sobeckb@tsbvi.edu Lani Simonton to Everyone: We all apologize in advance for the 100 thousand emails you will get in the next month. Thanks for all you do Erica Cairns to Everyone: Bring em on!
