(Wink) sarah kamachaya to Everyone: Even if there are not visual stimuli needed to complete a subtest, a lot of language tests (used by SLPs) include visual concepts, such as colors/appearances/ etc. May Nguyen to Everyone: Even if you are not using the WJ V, reviewing the guidance document for use with populations with D/HH and B/LV is helpful and goes over concepts like these https://blog.riversideinsights.com/hubfs/Clinical%20-%20Sales%20and%20Services%20Collateral/WJ%20V/WJ%20V%20ASB%20-%20Use%20of%20the%20Woodcock-Johnson%20V%20for%20Populations%20with%20Sensory%20Impairments.pdf Tyler Hamilton to Everyone: I was told by a lead that a DB student can be DNQ from services without a full O&M Evaluation. I am pretty sure it is the law that a full evaluation is required for a student with a documented disability...is that correct? May Nguyen to Everyone: 34 CFR § 300.304(c)(6): “(6) In evaluating each child with a disability under §§300.304 through 300.306, the evaluation is sufficiently comprehensive to identify all of the child’s special education and related services needs, whether or not commonly linked to the disability category in which the child has been classified.” Tyler Hamilton to Everyone: No initial evaluation was ever done May Nguyen to Everyone: 34 CFR § 300.320(2): “(i) A statement of measurable annual goals, including academic and functional goals designed to— (A) Meet the child’s needs that result from the child’s disability to enable the child to be involved in and make progress in the general education curriculum; and (B) Meet each of the child’s other educational needs that result from the child’s disability;” May Nguyen to Everyone: 34 CFR § 300.304(c)(4): “The child is assessed in all areas related to the suspected disability, including, if appropriate, health, vision, hearing, social and emotional status, general intelligence, academic performance, communicative status, and motor abilities” Alex Driver to Everyone: yes sarah kamachaya to Everyone: yes Gianna Ruybe to Everyone: y Melanie Stetzer to Everyone: y Lisa Witten to Everyone: yes Tyler Hamilton to Everyone: Yes Suzette Moser to Everyone: heck yes!
