LYNNE: Visual Novelty is the next characteristic of CVI. And we kind of touched upon this when we talked about latency. A lot of these students don't do well with visual novelty, so new things are not processed easily. It's the opposite of those with typical vision, who alert to novel visual input more than that which is familiar. Individuals with CVI may not notice what is unfamiliar. There's no memory or library of information built up around novel objects.
