BRANDON: What do you mean, check these in class? 

TEACHER: If this was your homework assignment you'd check it in class. Because the first third of class, I'm not in there to help you. Because I want you to be on your own, and gain your own experiences. 

BRANDON: Right. 

TEACHER: So, that's when you guys typically do your openers, and check your homework. So, you have your homework written down so you can participate with the rest of the class. 

BRANDON: Oh, I see. So, we have to show them that. 

TEACHER: Yes. 

BRANDON: Okay. 
TEACHER: Wink, wink, nudge, nudge... this is homework. 

TEACHER: Get it?

BRANDON: Yeah.

TEACHER: Good.
