Using a Loop Turner Transcript Start Audio Description: A title reads: Using a Loop Turner. Patty Obrzut: To attach items onto a Little Room or onto a Position Board. You will need the following items tubing, elastic, and I would recommend a minimum of one quarter inch braided elastic. You can use items that are wider, or thinner, but I do not recommend cord elastic, as that item usually breaks easily. A loop Turner, which is available at any fabric store. You can also purchase the elastic by the bolt or in small packages. We use the bolt, because we use so much elastic, and it's much cheaper that way. To place the tubing over the elastic, simply take the loop turner, put it through the tubing, attach the elastic to the end of the loop turner, with the hook, pull through the tubing. Now, you can attach the toy onto one end, and you attach the other end onto a dowel rod, or maybe a position board. For example this toy has been attached at one end, while the dowel rod has been attached at the other end. Dowel rods can be purchased at any hardware store. They can come in small packages aready precut, or in long packages where you will need to cut them yourself. Either way, I would recommend taking the dowel rod and cutting a small groove at the top. This way, when you attach the elastic, as I've done here, when you're trying to put it through the lid of a little room, when you turn the dowel rod up-and-through that little groove will help to keep the elastic from sliding off.
