Kayden Sitting on Drums

Kayden: [verbalizing]

Narrator: In this video we see 5-year-old Kayden seated on a stack of two gathering drums. Karen, who is a dance and movement therapist, observes Kayden, and imitates the sounds she makes with her mouth and kicking her feet on the drum.

Kayden: Hee, hee

Karen: Hee, hee, hee.

Kayden: [squealing]
[laughing]

Karen: [giggling]
You like those drums.

Kayden: [squealing]

Karen: Yeah!

Kayden: Aa, aa, aa, aa.
[drumming]

Karen: Aa, aa, aa, aa.

[metal tones]

Narrator: In the second part of the video Karen plays with a Meinl Helix Bowl, a Meinl Galaxy Percussion Instrument, and a Hand Held Agogo Bell on the floor near the drum. Kayden listens quietly, and reaches her hand out, to indicate that she would like to play with these. Karen waits for her to climb off the drum to look for these instruments, but Kayden stays seated on the drums.

Narrator: In the last part of the video, we see Kayden explore the Meinl Helix Bowl and all of its properties. She puts it in her mouth, bangs it, and taps it rhythmically.

[rhythmic tapping]
