Optical Device Use, Part 1: Instruction in the Use of Optical Devices
Chrissy Cowan, TVI, and Cynthia Bachofer, TVI, CLVT from the Texas School for the Blind & Visually Impaired give an overview of the range of optical devices typically prescribed in clinical setting and the skills needed to access near and distance targets. They discuss the specific skills needed to use magnifiers and monocular telescopes and strategies for teaching students, ages 3 through 21.
