TSBVI Coffee Hour: From the Front Lines- Parent Coaching Through Connection
2/25/2021 Part 2: While 2020 has forced us all into a new way of life and left many of us feeling overwhelmed, it created many new opportunities for learning and connecting. The practice of tele-intervention has expanded our service capabilities and empowered the families we serve in Early Intervention. Research supports tele-intervention as an effective model for delivering high quality family-centered early intervention. Although Parent Coaching has been the gold standard in our field for many years, very few professionals actually went to school to learn how to teach adults. In March of last year we found ourselves forced into coaching parents more than ever and we are discovering that this model is empowering, effective and here to stay.
