Sensory Needs of Students with Visual Impairments and Optic Nerve Hypoplasia
Children with visual impairments often experience sensory motor and behavioral challenges that can affect their ability to make progress in the general and special education setting. By providing children with meaningful and intentional sensory motor activities throughout the day, children with visual and multiple impairments gain the ability to self-organize their sensory systems in order to participate in activities with their peers and make progress in their individualized education plans. Join us to discuss how to identify students with challenges in sensorimotor development and provide strategies for intervention including the use of sensory motor activities and routines to be implemented in a variety of settings. Open captioned and ASL.
