Description of graphical content is included between Description Start and Description End. Transcript Start Lynne: Students with Cortical Visual Impairment present with ten visual behavioral characteristics that exist along a continuum. These characteristics are outlined in great detail by Dr. Christine Roman-Lantzy in Chapter 2 of Cortical Visual Impairment: An Approach to Assessment and Intervention. All characteristics may be present in some form, though it may not be obvious to the untrained eye. Some characteristics may have manifested in the past, but may no longer interfere with vision. Each individual will present differently, so each characteristic needs to be examined and considered. Sara: The examples of specific individuals are shown to give viewers experience in observing how a particular characteristic may be expressed. This will be different for each person. The more experience a person has with CVI characteristics, the easier it becomes to identify them. Each evaluator will build their own knowledge based on their experiences with children who have CVI.
